AFS3 Free-Flow Diving Helmet
Something new, the Tatum AFS 3 diving helmet is made in Germany product, designed for use fresh and in contaminated waters and corresponds to the latest state of the art and security.
The perfectly positioned counterweights ensure even weight distribution on land and in the water. The helmet is always balanced.
The breathing air is metered via an automatic, pressure-controlled metering valve, the minimum free flow is 10%, the remaining amount for the breath is metered on request by a lung-automatic control. A manual control enables the free flow to be increased from 10% to 100%. The permanent inflow of free flow reduces the CO2 level inside the helmet well below the permissible limit, so an inner mask is not required. The control membrane and thus also the control of the automatic metering valve have no direct contact with the environment. The automatic dosage therefore also works in liquids with a density greater than water, e.g. mud. The automatic metering valve divides the incoming air flow, one part flows in front of the lens, the other floods the lower part of the helmet. This prevents the window from fogging up and the accumulation of CO2. The helmet internal pressure is regulated to plus 18 to 20 mbar and is used as a control variable for the entry of breathing air.
TATUM hood is adapted to the diver's head size and compensates for the space between the head and the helmet. The diver's head set, loudspeaker and microphone is housed in a hearing protection capsule. The shape and structure of the hood reduce the noise level by 25 dB (A) and the microphone housed in the earmuff enables communication with the land station with reduced interference.
